Woman Killed In Tractor Trailer Wreck
PRINCETON, IN (TruckingNewsNow.com) (Source: Indiana State Police) — At approximately 10:04 this morning a two vehicle crash on US 41 at C.R. 100 West claimed the life of a Haubstadt woman.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Thomas Lee Sowders, 65, of Owensboro, KY, was driving a 2004 Peterbilt tractor-trailer northwest on US 41 approaching C.R. 100 West. Elena Williams, 45, of Haubstadt, was driving her 2005 Toyota Corolla south on C.R. 100 West when she pulled into the path of the semi. After impact, the Toyota Corolla came to a final rest in the median. The semi came to a final rest in the passing lane north of the intersection.
Williams was transported to Gibson General Hospital in Princeton where she died from her injuries. Sowders was taken to Deaconess Gateway where he is currently being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

At this time, investigating troopers are unable to determine which driver had the green traffic light.
