Two Semis Collide, Drivers Injured, In Idaho
WILDER, IDAHO (TruckingNewsNow.com) (Source: Idaho State Police) — On Thursday, September 13, 2018, at approximately 2:22 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle, injury crash on US95 at Jacks Road, three miles north of Wilder in Canyon County.
David Austin, 71, of Nampa, was northbound on US95 in a 2014 Volvo semi pulling a single trailer, preparing to make a left turn onto Jacks Road. Clayton Reeder, 36, of Emmett, was southbound on US95 in 2004 Kenworth semi. The Volvo semi turned in front of the Kenworth semi, and they collided head-on.
The Volvo came to rest in the roadway, blocking all lanes. Austin was wearing a seatbelt. The Kenworth came to rest off the right shoulder. Reeder was not wearing a seatbelt. Both drivers were taken to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. Austin was transported by ground ambulance, and Reeder was transported by air ambulance.
