Semi Driver Arrested On Money Laundering Charge

Indian State Police troopers arrested the driver of this semi on federal money laundering charges.

LAKE COUNTY, IN (TruckingNewsNow.com) (Source: Indiana State Police) — The Indiana State Police received a tip today, Wednesday, June 20, 2018, of a person wanted on a federal warrant.  Information was given about the person driving a semi (description was given) that was going north bound on I-65 near Crown Point.

Trooper Kim Zelnis was in the area and was able to locate the semi, a red 2019 International, owned by Arizpe Transportation and Logistics LLC out of Laredo, Texas.  The semi pulled over on the outer shoulder near 61st Avenue where a felony stop was made.  The driver, identified as Ismael Rios III, 41 of Laredo, Texas, was wanted on a federal warrant for money laundering.

Rios was transported by an agent with the US Marshals Service Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force to the United States Federal Building/Courthouse in Hammond.
