Semi With Three Trailers Involved In Idaho Fatal Truck Crash

MALAD, ID (TruckingNewsNow.com) (Source: Idaho State Police) — On Monday, May 21, 2018, at approximately 11:30 A.M., Idaho State Police investigated a fatality crash, southbound Interstate 15 at milepost 3, 10 miles south of Malad.

Darrell Oler, 61, of Blackfoot, was driving southbound in a 2011 Ford F350 pickup. Kent Halford, 54, of Idaho Falls, was also driving southbound in a 2017 International semi-truck pulling three trailers. Oler struck the rear trailer, drove off the right shoulder, down an embankment, across the off ramp and across Woodruff road where the vehicle rolled. Oler was ejected from the vehicle and succumbed to his injuries at scene. Oler was not wearing a seatbelt. Halford was wearing a seat belt.
