CHERRY HILL, NJ (TruckingNewsNow.com) — Dr. Veronica Hawkins, Director of Talent Development at NFI, will speak at the 2018 National Minority Trucking Association (NMTA) Top Expo Conference, taking place May 11-12, 2018 in Atlanta, Ga. With the goal of empowering women within the transportation and logistics industry, the Top Women in Logistics event will feature Hawkins as the keynote speaker, along with three panelists.

The Top Women in Logistics event aims to uplift and reiterate a sense of respect for current female influencers, while also cultivating opportunities for mentorships and continuing education. Speakers will share their success stories and explore strategies to overcome challenges that women face within the industry.

“Of the approximately 7.7 million employees in the transportation and logistics industry, only 22.6% are women,” said Hawkins. “Through this event, we hope to empower and encourage other women in the industry, as well as fortify opportunities for both personal and professional success.”

As a three-time graduate of The Pennsylvania State University, Hawkins has held leadership roles in a variety of industries, including healthcare, higher education, retail operations, manufacturing, and supply chain. She is the Director of Talent Development at NFI, a leading supply chain solutions provider, where she helps guide the company’s ability to achieve organizational goals through people capabilities and process infrastructure management. She leads all learning and organization development, performance management, and talent related initiatives.
